Fenton improves to 4-1 in the league and has good showing at Rochester Adams

Wednesday the Tigers continued league action squeaking past the Bronchos of Holly and defeating Owosso. The night kicked off vs. rival Holly. Carson Krzeszak kicked things off at 285 winning by fall over Gary Wall of Holly. Both teams voided 103. Jamal Horne continued to have success defeating Gabe Soja 10-6 bringing the score to 9-0 Fenton. Owen Freeman dropped a closed one 5-6 at 119. Garrett Clark defeated Andrew Cross by technical fall to increase Fenton's lead to 14-3. Blake Gerow lost by fall at 135 to Anthony Ayotte closing the gap to 14-9. Fenton voided the next three putting Holly in the lead 14-29. Dylan Beverly won a tight 11-9 decision over Holly's Hunter Hummel. The premier match of the night was Philip Lamka vs. Jacob Gonzales of Holly. Lamka ranked 2nd at 152 and Gonzales 1st at 160. Gonzales was able to win a very good match 4-0. Kyle Dunfield and Jaden Harper both took forfeits. The final match of the dual was Evan Firby vs. Jason VanSickle at 215 pounds. Fenton was down 29-30. Firby continued his hot streak winning by fall giving the Tigers the 35-30 dual win.  

The Tigers were able to take care of Owosso winning 9 of the 14 weight classes winning 45-24. Jamal Horne (112), Garrett Clark (125), Dylan Beverly (152), Philip Lamka (160), Evan Firby (215) all went 2-0 on the night. Owen Freeman (119), Keagan Crandall (119), Blake Gerow (130), Kyle Dunfield (171), Jaden Harper (189), Carson Krzeszak all got one win.

Fenton also traveled to Rochester Adams Saturday where six TIgers competed. Philip Lamka (160) captured his 3rd invitational championship this year going 3-0 on the day. Lamka won all three matches by fall defeating Dylan Scott (Waterford Kettering), Max Koscielny (Allen Park), and Nathan Lundgren (Woodhaven) in the championship. Lamka is 23-1 on the year. Garrett Clark (125) went 4-1 falling in the championship 9-2. Clark pinned all of his first four opponents. Evan Firby also went 4-1. Firby won by fall in the 3rd place match and his other three wins were by points. Owen Freeman placed 5th going 3-2 on the day. Carson Krzeszak (285) was also 3-2 but placed 7th. Kyle Dunfield was 2-2 on the day at 160 pounds. 

Fenton travels to Goodrich on Wednesday for league action.
