An energetic Davison Cardinals played host to the Fenton-Linden Heat on Wednesday night in a non-League Girls’ Lacrosse game. It was a slower than normal start for our ladies who scored their first goal, five minutes in to the match. Another nine minutes passed before our second as they began to correct some technical errors. Five Heat goals in the next five minutes increased the lead to 7-0 as the clock wound down to the half. With 15 seconds left in the first, the Cardinals scored their first on an 8-meter free Position Shot.

The second half also started slow, with some of the same technical hiccups returning. Six minutes in, Lara Kemp scored. Forty seconds later, Katelyn Mossett added one from the 8m spot. From that point on, the teams traded draw wins, the Heat would score after their win and the Heat defenders, led by seniors, Holly Fijolek and Maggie Cates, stymied the Cards after their draw wins. Keeper, Allison Brown stopped 13 of 15 shots but could have faced a dozen more but the D and Middies timely doubles, ushered the Davison attackers away from goal. Davison did manage a second goal but in the end, the Heat won convincingly, 13-2.
