Two Pitchers Work Together As Fenton Tigers Varsity Defeats Holly In Shut-Out

Fenton Tigers Varsity defeated Holly 9-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Brooks Funke struck out Clark to finish off the game.

Fenton Tigers Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when Connor Luck singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Fenton Tigers Varsity tallied four runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught came from a single by Colin Lawrence, a sac fly by Owen McCuan, and an error on a ball put in play by Spencer Luck.

One bright spot for Holly was a single by Walton in the second inning.

Kyle Crow was the winning pitcher for Fenton Tigers Varsity. The bulldog surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Funke threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Smith took the loss for Holly. Smith lasted three innings, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out five.

Luck led Fenton Tigers Varsity with three hits in four at bats.
