Fenton Tigers Varsity Can't Catch Up To Goodrich

Fenton Tigers Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 6-3 loss to Goodrich on Monday. Goodrich took the lead on a double in the second inning.

After Goodrich scored one run in the top of the fifth, Fenton Tigers Varsity answered with one of their own. Fenton Tigers Varsity then answered when an error scored one run for Fenton Tigers Varsity.

Goodrich pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Liford doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Denton got the win for Goodrich. The ace lasted three innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out one and walking zero. Hart and Liford entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Liford recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Goodrich.

Kyle Crow took the loss for Fenton Tigers Varsity. The pitcher surrendered four runs on two hits over four innings, striking out four.

Fenton Tigers Varsity had nine hits in the game. Logan Angel, Brendan Alvord, and Lance Barkholz all managed multiple hits for Fenton Tigers Varsity. Barkholz, Alvord, and Angel all had two hits to lead Fenton Tigers Varsity.

Liford went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Goodrich in hits. Goodrich stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Nick led the way with two.
