Winter Return to Sport Daily Workout Resources - Days #8 and #9

Welcome to Day #8!

While the news yesterday about starting back wasn’t fully what we expected to hear, we welcome the opportunity for our teams to start getting back into action and building towards further sport activity (as the guidelines permit).

Today’s edition will include the videos for both day #8 and #9, and wraps up this series.  Please use the info in these for your workouts today and tomorrow (Friday, Jan 15) to help prepare for your teams activities in the coming days.

Parents and Coaches, please feel free to use any of these videos for your own use to keep moving in your own daily workouts.  This can be if you are just starting out or if you need some additional ideas or challenges in your own routine or practice sessions throughout the seasons and beyond.

Workout Challenge #5: Daily Workout Video #5 - 3 minutes

Workout Challenge #6: Daily Workout Video #6 - 3 minutes

Workout Challenge #7: Daily Workout Video #7 - 3 minutes

Workout Challenge #8:  Daily Workout Video #8 - 3 minutes

Workout Challenge #9:  Daily Workout Video #9 - 3 minutes

A few tips, to help you get the most of your workout:

  • Watch the video through once or twice to get an idea. It is only about 3 minutes long. It will show some basic stretches and exercises that you can do at home, with little or no special equipment. Each total session should be about 30-45 minutes, as you tolerate.
  • Work to your tolerance. Each exercise may have a specific technique for you to focus on. Control your movement, don’t be in a hurry.
  • Work at your pace. Work to accomplish what you can, but start slowly and don’t overdo it to the point you cause an injury. Each exercise is meant to help get you moving and work to help reduce the risk of injury when your return to your practice.
  • Share the link with your teammates (and your family too) and create a challenge.
